Many employers provide a Health Savings Account to provide tax-free dollars towards medical expenses.  These accounts can be used not only for eye examinations and co-pays but also for materials such as glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses.  If your employer does not offer this type of accounts, they can also be opened individually.
