Midtown Fights Climate Change

Midtown Optometry is now net carbon neutral. We owe it to our future to think about the environment, and it is easier than one might think to do their part! At Midtown Optometry, we offset our carbon emissions through helping to fund carbon recapture programs. Through TerraPass, we help to fund various projects such as wind farms, carbon recapture programs, and forest preservation projects. All carbon offsets are certified by a third party to ensure that they create lasting protection for the environment and the organisms that live in it. All projects funded are additional" projects that would not otherwise have been possible. These programs allow small business like us to leverage our efforts to programs that will be most effective across the globe. On top of this, Midtown Optometry will offset the two times the carbon footprint of every staff member through rainforest conservation efforts with Rainforest Trust. Rainforest Trust has protected 39 million acres of rainforest during the last 30 years, 99% of which is still around today due to their efforts. Each acre of protected rainforest can offset approximately 1 metric ton of carbon each year. These great organizations make it easy to do our part.
