Ages 16-25 is a dynamic time for your eyes.  For many who have already been prescribed glasses for nearsightedness, the prescription will continue to increase slowly into the early 20's. This is also a time when a first prescription will become necessary for glasses or contact lenses.

The American Optometric Association recommends a yearly eye exam for Children.  On average 80% of learning is done visually, so having great eyes is critical at this age. While children often go through school vision screenings, these only evaluate the child's vision and can overlook other functions.

Your experience at Midtown Optometry will be tailored to your specific needs so every exam is unique.  Broadly speaking, however, people can be grouped by age and I will go over some of the touch points that we pay close attention to for each demographic in a series of blogs.
